Hello, looking for immigration information on Sivert (Syver) Oleson Haugen born abt 1797 in Norway, his family and ancestors. I believe he immigrated to America after 1854 settling in Goodhue County Minnesota with his daughter and sons. I know he was in Goodhue in 1867 with his sons and daughter Kristi. Sons are listed as Siversons and Haugens in census records. I believe his wife Berit died in 1846 in Norway. Berits fathers name was possibly Knute. He ended up traveling to South Dakota to live with his daughter Kristi Haugen Thompson. Kristi married John Thompson, son of Guttorm Johnsen Kirkeby from Meraker immigrated 1854?). I have a great deal of information oh John and his family here in America. Kristi and John Thompson were the first Norwegian settlers in Minnehaha County SD. Local Norwegian history called her a good Valders girl? If that helps figure out where Sivert Haugen came from. I have also seen Kristi as being listed from Hedalen, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, Norway? Sivert O Haugen is buried in the Norwegian Pioneer Cemetery North of Sioux Falls, SD. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you Paul
