Skaue Prgj. Vatne S.

In my search for my family history I have learned that Norway is one of the most wonderful places in the world. I am trying to find the records od my ancestor Kristen Ingebregtsen, born in 1840. On the 1875 census he was listed as living in Alesund at 1501 Buholmstrand in a house owned by Peter Jacobsen. he was married to Lorense Nilsdatter and had 4 sons living with them at that time. Kristen's Birth Place is listed as Skaue Prgj. Vatne S. I know that Prgj. must be an abbeviation for prestegjeld (parish), but I cannot seem to locate a Skaue parish. Can anyone help? Jillene
