Søverin Nilsen born 1885 or 1886

I am looking for information about my grandfather. His parents' names were Nils Nilsen and Bretta Knudtsdatter. He emigrated to the United States from Bergen around April of 1904, at which time he changed his name to Iver Severin Nelson. My father believes the family farm's name was Sjøhus and that the nearest village to it was Kyrping (sp?). We also believe he was baptized in Skanavic (sp?). My aunt has told me some of his siblings' names and they include Knut (who also emigrated to the U. S. around 1906), Nils, Anne, Marie, Bertina, and Martina. I will be in the Bergen area in early July and any help in finding records of the ship he came over on, the family church and its location, and how I might be able to find the family farm and any relatives still residing there, would be greatly appreciated.
