Soren Oleson/Stadsvold

Hi! I am looking for information on when my GGrandfather Soren Oleson emigrated to the U. S. The only information that I have so far, I obtained from his obituary in 1909, and hopefully it will be enough to allow me to continue with my research. Soren Oleson(changed to Stadsvold in the U. S.) was born in Lanspresdjeld, Norway, August 24, 1829, and came to America with his parents, two sisters and a brother, in 1847, locating at Rock Prairie, Wisconsin, where the family resided four years and then came to Jefferson township, Allamakee, Iowa. I realize this isn't alot of information, but I am hoping someone can either find some clues in Norwegian databases, or point me in the right direction to keep looking. Thank you ! Mary
