The LAYES name

I was told by LLoydd Layes, senior(86yrs old) that his family came from the Norse .he said that he thought the place started with the letterA. ( I thought Angesley).I was just wondering if Lee is the sound of laye in norse ?( ive also looked under other variants(English) but haven't had much luck with Norwegian ancestry. I would be geatful for any assistance or suggestions you have.thankyou. PEACE
