The ship "Aurora" and her Captain Chris Bonnevie

I've been trying to find out more about my Norwegian great grandfather Christian Frederick Bonnevie. According to the family stories, he died c1884 at sea, or on the Great Lakes. His widow, Ida Mathilde Holte (who immigrated from Aurskog, Akershus, Norway with her family around 1881) remarried and never talked about him. Does any one know where I can find more about the ship Aurora? I've found it listed as being in the UK in 1881, with Christian Bonnevie as Master. Also located him in the 1875 census, but can't find out anything more. Any help would be appreciated!
