Tollef T. Thompson - Help

I am sorry if I posted in the wrong place. I am writing to this forum because i could really use some help. Either I could use help in finding or navigating around. I am looking for information about my great, great, grandfather’s migration to the US. Here is what I know or am told. According to US census he migrated here in 1862 from Norway, He was born in about 1849, and his name here was Tollef T. Thompson. He Was in Wisconsin and then Minnesota. I have no Idea where he was born other than Norway. I also could use help location His second wife. She was born in Sweden, migrated here in abt 1900, and best I can tell her name is Emma s. and married Thompson. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you all. John [:)]
