Tor Thomas Knutsen Odden

My great grandfather emigrated from Valdres Norway in about 1889. He lived in Minnesota and South Dakota. In America he went by the name of Thomas Odden. But it seems his name may have been Tor Knutsen. His father's name was Knut Toresen. He was born in Skrutvold Opland in 1855. His wife Marit and two children Knut and Olea came to America on April 12, 1893 - they used the sirname of Odden. I can't find baptismal records, marriage records for him and have searched under all manner of names to see which ship he sailed on but no luck. If anybody can shed light on this I would appreciate it very much. Marit was from the farm Berg
