Trying to find info on Eilert Kristoffer Olsen

I am trying to find information on a relative named Eilert Kristoffer Olsen. I believe he lived on the Togstad farm in the Verdal region of Norway. All of his descendants took the Togstad name in America. He never came to America and wife came to America as a widow and she died in 1912. I would like to find out what happened to him if possible. The only other information that I have is that he was born in 1837. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Tim
