Børge - Here is some info about TUSKINA. She was ship rigged, 421 tons (American register). In 1842 She was in the New York - Havre trade, Captain F.W. Spencer. Quite plainly American register. In 1843, under Capt. F.W. Spencer she is in the New York - New Orleans trade. In 1845 she is back in the Ny-Europe trade, Capt. S.O. Williams. Back in 1830 she was sailing NY-Mobile under Capt. Joseph Post. Evidentally a hardy old packet and a good sailer. This info from "Queens of the Western Ocean" Carl C. Cutler 1961. Mr. Cutler died in 1934 but his two volumes of work were not published until 1961. Warm regards. Jim Heg Erik Bye is a friend of mine.
