Need your kind help out there: to trace what happened to the uncle of my mother, after he left from Nord-Aurdal, Oppland county in Norway, to seek a new, better and more prosperous life in United States of America.
The name of the uncle of my mother was: Syver Nilsen, born 02. May 1883 in Nord-Aurdal, Oppland, Norway.
Syver and his sisters an brother lived their early years at small farm in the hillside called Fodnes, outside a small town named Fagernes in Oppland, Norway.
His father’s name was: Nils Nilsen, b. 15.06. 1846 at Gol, Buskerud, Norway.
His mothers name: Maria Olsdatter, b. 15.12.1847 Nord-Aurdal, Oppland, Norway:
Syver Nilsen had 2 sisters (Dorthea and Sigrid) and 1 brother (Nils)
My mother Margit Nilsen was born 1921 at Fodnes, Nord-Aurdal, Oppland, Norway and is now deceased. She married Gunnar Taraldsen (b. 1904) in 1946 (the family name Taraldsen was later changed to read Aasheim).
I found the name of her uncle Syver Nilsen in Ancestry.com:
New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England.
Ship name : “Cedric”.
Port of arrival: New York, N.Y.
Arrived N.Y. 30.10.1903

What happened to Syver, after arriving in New York?
Where did Syver Nilsen settle after he arrived in New York?
Where is he buried?
Did he marry, did he raise a family?
I very much appreciate any help, thank you so much!
Best regards,
Bjorn Aasheim
