Bjorn and Abel Cathrine left Norway in 1836 because of their marriage was not accepted because her parents believed that Abel Carhrine were from a higher social status (German/ Danish/Norwegian noble family) than Bjorn's farmer family, and that there was no religious freedom in Norway. Bjorn was a Quaker. They married in clandestine in 1831 in Stavanger, was ostracized by the family von Krogh and had to move to another municipality. After few years they emigrated.
Abel Cathrine and Bjorn settled in Wisconsin Territory on the Koshkonong Prairie in 1841. One of their kids, Rasmus B Anderson - address Dane County- , edited in 1915 the book "Life story of Rasmus B. Anderson." There is many interesting stories about emigration, Norwegian settlement and other factors.
