Oden Jacobs was the name Aad took in the United States (My great great great grandfather). He was born in/near Tysvaer on November 19, 1820 (recorded) and emigrated with his widowed mother (in ship's registry B. Aadsdatter--her name is Brita/Britta) and siblings (Gudmund, Anna, Ellen Sophia, and Bertha) on the Norden in 1936. His older brother was also on the ship but is listed separately: Isak Jacob Gudmundson. Isak died during the crossing. Oden lived in the Fox River area in Illinois, converted to Mormonism, back to Lutheranism (according to my grandfather), then back to Mormonism (reformed branch), made a mission trip to Scandinavia in 1880 (Denmark and Norway), and died in Iowa in 1905. He and his wife Rebecca Buland Jacobs had 11 children.
