Hello,

I am trying to find out how these two are related to my family. In Sauk County Wisconsin, my family, Bernt Anderson (bernt Andersen) 1838-1910 and his wife Karen M Anderson(Karen Matea Kristiansdatter) 1849-1923, are buried here along with some of their children. With them, is Michael Larson and his wife Oline Larson. This is all I have to go on from someone who was telling me how he came across Michael Larson....

"I found his name in my great grandfather's (Ludwig Forseth, ) Norwegian Bible as Mikkel Larsen, Födt. 1831, Döde. 1901, Begravet på. Big Hollow. My mother thought he was a cousin or uncle of Ludwig's. I know nothing about Ludwig's father other than his name Abraham Larsen. Michael is most likely a younger brother of Abraham. Ludwig also was born in Eidsvold, Akerhus, Norway and changed his last name from Abrahamson to Forseth when he came to the US in 1889"

Any assistance as to helping me find how Michael and Oline are related to me.

Thank you :):)

Mikael Larsen Fraurud in census-1865.
He is born about 1827 in Eidsvoll, Akershus, Norway. It looks like he could have married around 1848.
It seems like he could be a brother to Abraham Larsen (born 1816). They are both born on Fraurud farm.
If they're brothers, their father would be Lars Mikkelsen.

I was told that Oline was his second wife. Im unsure if they married in Norway or after they both arrived in the US.

Here is a marriage of Bernt Mikkelson to a Guri Anderson in 1883 in Sauk County, Wisconsin:

What is known about Bernt Anderson's relatives?

Here is the old topic dealing with Bernt Anderson's son Fred Bennet Anderson:

Bernt Anderson is my great great grandfather. His son Fred(Frithjof) is my great grandfather. You actually helped me find a lot of information on here about them a few months ago :) I don't know what the connection is with Bernt and Michael/Oline. They are buried together in the Big Hollow Cemetery in Sauk County Wisconsin. Some of Bernt's children's names are on the headstone with Michael and Oline.

In the 1865 Census, Karen Marthea Mikalsdatter is listed as Mikael Larsen's daughter. The information I was given on a previous search, shows a different name of Karen Mathea Xristoffersdatter. Bernt Anderson's wife was Karen Mathea Anderson born in 1849. Can anyone locate a baptism record or marriage record for Bernt Anderson and Karen Mikalsdatter? If this is the case, then Michael Larson and Oline Larson are Karen's parents and Bernt's in laws and that is why they are all buried together.

Here is Bernt Andersen's first marriage:

How about this? Olea Kristoffersdatter is Karen Marthea's mother. In the leaving the parish register (as indexed) Mikael Larsen's wife is listed as Olea Kristoffersdatter:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=88&filnamn=uf0237p1&gardpostnr=16&merk=16#ovre

Michael Larson is father-in-law by virtue of his marriage to Karen Marthea's mother.
