This may seem a silly question but I have to admit I am confused and could use a bit of help.
My paternal great-grandfather came to the US from Hjartdal, Telemark and his future wife came from Gransherad, Telemark. (Far-far-far and far-far-mor)

My daughter had expressed interest learning about the bunad applicable to those regions and I am unable to learn if they are considered to be in Øst-Telemark or Vest-Telemark.

I have found many beautiful examples online of both Telemark regions but could use a little advise from my friends in Norway.

Hjartdal is located to Øst Telemark. Earlier Gransherad was a sub parish in Hjartdal. Gransherad is now a subparish in Heddal, Notoddeden municipality.
Parts of Gransherad merged with Jondalen in Buskerud, and Jondalen merged with Kongsberg town, Buskerud County, in the 1960s

Øst Telemark consists of the municipalities Notodden, Bø, Sauherad, Nome, Tinn and Hjartdal.

Google. BUNAD, ØST TELEMARK, DAME (female)

Thank you Kåre. I speak of Hjartdal and Gransherad as they were when my ancestors left them and the same as I find in the bygdebøker.
We will greatly enjoy the photos and even some minor instruction seen on the internet which nicely include Øst Telemark.

I wonder if my daughter feels like she can attempt that much beautiful embroidery or if she'll just admire it from afar. I must chuckle.

Thank you again.

We gave a Øst-Telemark bunad to our grand-daughter when she was confirmatet in Mai 2019. My G.grandfather Ole came from Sauherad in Øst-Telemark.
A complete Bunad with silver cost ca 55.000-60.000 Kroner
