Bavaria (1) Hamburg America Line steamship built 1856 at Greenock by Caird & Co. Originally launched as the "Petropolis" for Hamburg-Brasilianische Oct. 30, 1856, but was taken over by HAPAG the same year and renamed. Taken over by the Dominion Line in 1876, name remained the same.
