Good evening,

Can someone help me make sense of the story for my 6th great-grandfather, Even Finnsen? He was baptized on 17 Oct 1722. According to an author, he lived on Øveren in 1777, 1780 and 1801, but I never did I found a death or burial entry.

These closest I found was below, but this was four years before the census. Even Finsen was a rare name in Buskerud County, I know none other, and the combination with the similar spelling of the Farm, makes me thing this is my Even Finnsen. But how would one explain the 1801 census then?

Burial in January 1797 for Even Finsen Øvren [...] 80 (~1717)

  • Census 1 February 1801 for Even Finsen Øvern 81 (~1720)

  • Marriage on 9 Feb 1777 for Even Findsen Øvern to my 6th great-grandmother Berit Olsdatter

The dashed line in the death / burial record carrying from Even Finnsen etc goes to a zero in the age column not to the 80 number. Not sure what the other ... stuff says, other examples on the page of 0 aged death/burials seem pretty explicit such as "Mari Mikkelsdatr Barn Barbara" or just underneath Even's "Ole Erikson Rue______ Son"

So a rare name means most likely it belongs in your family and that Even and Berit are still in the "baby business" late in their lives....

I appreciate so much that you double-checked it! So a child of Even that probably had no name and died at birth, since I didn't find a birth entry?

Also are you able to decipher what it says, something like Øvren*y*s*e?
