My Great-Great Grandparents were Jacob Olsen Kjorstadmoen was born December 7, 1824, in Harpefoss, Sor-Fron kommune, Oppland fylke, Norway and Kristiana Hovenmoen Moe. Jacob died on June 22, 1879 at the age of fifty-four, and is buried at the Sor-Fron Cemetery in Hundorp Norway.
Kristiana Hovenmoen Moe was born March 24, 1826, in Sor-Fron kommune, Oppland fylke, Norway. Kristiana died on Dec 29, 1907, in Alliance Box Butte County, Nebraska, and is buried at the Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Hemingford, Nebraska.

Looking for any history on Kristiana between June of 1879 and her death in December 1826. Any suggestions on how to get started?

If she was in US search to find her in US Federal censuses. 1900, for instance, carries a lot of information.

According to this story, Ole J Moe came to US in 1890: 1880

There is an elaborate Geni-profile for Kristiana: Link. The link "Emigrasjon USA" goes to an emigration list from 1881, where she is found together with at least two of her children.

Right after those two, one also finds Kristiane's sister-in-law Marit and another of Kristianes's daughters, Anna.

Looking at the original emigration record, one sees that that Kristiane, Martha, Karl, Marit and Anna are listed together as a group under the number (82)88.

Oddly enough I did not find the family leaving in the Sør-Fron parish church book. Here is a link to the first page of the 1881 book if anyone want to take a look and see if I missed them.

The bygdebook for Sør-Fron contains a list og emigrants, probably collected from the parish books. Nothing there either. In my experience the lists of people leaving a parish are not always complete.
