There is one particular Family Tree from Ancestry.com that sheds some light on the personal life of the person or persons under discussion here. From that Tree I pulled an additional ship record. 'The name is only George Smith no middle name and the place of origin is Germany not Denmark but it is worth taking a look at.

Her tree contains some information on encounters between an Adam Niels Larsen and Swedish authorities as well as encounters with Danish authorities.

16 Jun 1894 • Copenhagen, Denmark
Adam Niels Larsen, age 17, was released after serving a sentence of 25 cane strokes (Rottingslag) for theft and was transferred to the care of the municipal Poor Relief Authority (Fattigvæsenet). This means he was transferred to state care - in late 19th-century Denmark, this was a common administrative step for young, homeless, or indigent individuals who had finished a prison sentence and had no viable means of support or family housing, ensuring they were under municipal supervision. Source Citation: Politiefterretninger (Police Intelligence), No. 71, dated June 16, 1894, page 16.

Here is a paragraph on his exit from Denmark

Departure
1 Nov 1897 • Copenhagen, Denmark
According to Police Register Sheets and Military records, Adam Niels Larsen left Denmark on the 1st of Nov 1897, to never return. His Military records noted he was last tracked in the UK "opgiver at have været i UK" (claims to have been in the UK). This explains why he disappeared from Danish records; he had moved to the UK before eventually departing for either Australia or New Zealand.
