My grandfather was passenger on S/S Bergensfjord leaving Oslo 27.08.1927. His name was Johan Henrik Theodorsen, born 27.05.1890 in Fredrikstad, Norway. I think the ship arrived New York 06.09.1927. His intended destination was Canada according to norwegian emigration records. He was a sawmillworker in Norway. When searching for Johan Henrik Theodorsen on Ancestry.com the search returned 1 hit in the database Minnesota Naturalization Records Index, but I have no access to these records. Can anyone give me information how to find more about my grandfather?.
New information !! According to records from the Canadian Immigration Service he arrived Halifax, Nova Scotia 04.09.1927. I did not know that the ship Bergensfjord arrived Canada before New York. According to these records he intended to go to Winnipeg. It also seems that he was going to work for C.A. Van Scoy(n) Esq. Canadian Pacific Railways.
Any new information is of great interest to me !
