I've discovered my Greatgrandfather,Peder Tonset, had a daughter,Anne, with Sigrid Toresdatter. The daughter,Anne was born 17December1847 and lived at the Malselv Parish until 1871.She married Andreas Erikson Gamnes, who was born in 1854 and died in 1942.Anne dies in 1911.If possible,I'd like any information available? Thanks! JJ(Juanita)

This is the only Andreas Eriksen baptized in Målselv at the right time:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe

and here he probably is in the 1865 cencus:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/ft1865/f61924&variabel=0&postnr=2082&fulle=true&spraak=F

And this chould be Anne as a servant in the 1865 cencus:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/ft1865/f61924&variabel=0&postnr=1906&fulle=true&spraak=F

And this is certainly their marriage:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/kyrkjebok/1924viel&variabel=0&postnr=465&fulle=true&spraak=F

There's no trace of her parents in the 1865 cencus as far as I can see.

Hope any of this could be of some help...

Thank you for the information! Will you translate for me what maalselven and tjenestepige mean? Maalselven,I think, means servant? Also, the marriage date:Is it 9 February or 2 September? Also,is it possible to find out if Anne and Andreas had children and the exact date of Anne's death? Again;Thank you very Much!!! Have a good day. Juanita

The marriage date is written in "norwegian": DDMMYY.

"Elven" means river, I'm afraid I don't know what "Maals" means (in norwegian) so I can't translate that. But (here) it's the name of a place. "Tjenestepige" is a female servant. ("pige" = girl, a male servant would be a "tjenestedreng" in this oldfashioned norwegian).

They had at least two children:

and

sorry, Digitalarkivet, just "fell down". You'll have to cope with this for now. Questions from the 20th century is much harder to get, especially online. (So far...)
