The only Borhaven family I can find in 1900 census is H.C. in Oslo. In 1910 census his name is Harald C.. He was born in Grimstad
Sept. 3 1854.
The family is on Ullenæs in Fjære in 1865 census
The surname is Christensen still in 1875 census.

Before the law of permanent surnames in 1923 it was not unusual with a change of surname. Christensen/Kristensen is a very common surname ( = son of Kristen). Borhaven is a very rare one, probably a local place name from Grimstad area.

The mother of Harald was Anne Elisabeth, born Nov 13 1821 in Oslo, scanned church book, right side nr 12 , more information provided by LDS IGI
The father of Harald used Christensen as a surname. That is probably to consider as a family surname, because it is his father's patronymic. He was son of Lars Christensen LDS IGI. His sister Dorthe was born 1825 LDS IGI.
I have not found them inthe scanned churh books, but I found their parents marriage 1811 LDS IGI and Arendal church book, nr22.
Lars Christensen was (20) on Asdal in 1801 census, and Anne Catharine Pedersdatter was from Neskilen

The sister Kirstine Dorothea was born June 25 1825, see #52.

Christen Larsens father, Lars Christensen, was baptized Sept 17 1780, see 2nd record on left page. His parents were Christen Larsen, Asdal and Anna Margrethe Adamsdatter.

Christen Larsens mother Anna Catharina Pedersdatter was baptized April 6 1783, see last record on right page. Her parents were Peder Christensen, Næskilen and Birthe Helene Thomasdatter.
