I am sure you will find Halvor.
The link for Halvor Jonsen Aune´s bap. from record from 1746 on Dom. Oculi (3. Sunday in Fasting - March 13.) is in the Chronological list at the bottom of the page 1739-80.
Halvor´s parents married 1744, the groom was from Aune and the bride from Sĉter

Yes, Jackie you are exactly right. The minute I saw the name I knew it was the right series of books. However, after searching them on the U of M catalogue they appear to be fylke specific and the U only has three books. It has those for Buskerud, Oppland, and Hedmark. I will look them over anyway and perhaps my source at the U of North Dakota will be able to help me.
But thaks anyway, at least I now know the title.
