Please more information. Hans Olson can be a common name.

What is your ancestors birthdate or birthyear? Did he come to the United States?

Not only is Hans Olson a very common name, there are several Hans Dokka living in America.

There is a Hans Dokka born about 1851 living in Hamlin County South Dakota. But is referred to as Hans Halvorsen Dokk

Also a Hans Henry Grymyr Dokka Windom born about 1856 lived in Rolette County, North Dakota, and uses the name Hans Windom in most records

A just plain Hans Dokka born about 1865 also living in Walsh County , North Dakota. A single man aged 55 in the 1920 Census

This fellow fits your ancestor.. The 1900 Census has his age off, but other records put his birth year as 1840

Thank you everyone! Could you help me going in the past, I would love to see if anyone could help me find ( i have no clue) how they came over. It did say that they brought over part of their house I believe.
I am still new to finding all of this out. I am putting a book together for my kids so they have something to look back on one day. I really appreciate all the help!
