I know that my great grandmother and her siblings traveled to Norway, we are assuming Bergen, in 1903 after both their parents died. I can find one sibling who stayed in Norway and would die in 1940 of typhus, but all the rest of the children went back to the US, probably through Boston since that is where my great grandmother met my great grandfather.

I cannot find their ship manifest. No idea of the ship name or date of sail. Thoughts? Their mother's maiden name was Magnesen in the US, Rasmusdatter in Norway

If you are looking for ships manifests from US to Norway in the early 1900's you will not find much information. Records coming into the US are online in large numbers but records of people leaving America are very scarce.

Is this your Charles Walter Hansen living in Norway in the 1910 Norwegian Census. I am assuming that Sjarlys Hansen is just a mistranslation of Charles. Birth date is a little off. He is living with a Hanna Magnesen of Haugesund, Rogaland, Norge (Norway) and listed as his grandmother.

There is a large number of Family Trees on various members of this family, on Ancestry.com but in none of the ones that I have looked at is there any mention of how and when they traveled to Norway. It appears that most of them traveled to Norway sometime between the 1900 US Census and the 1910 Census as they are usually found in both of those census transcriptions. With the exception of Charles of course

Do you have any interest in tracing the ancestors back in time. Here is the family of Valborg Rasmusdatter in the 1875 Norwegian Census.
