The ship Ocean was built in 1859 at Stilenestangen in Kragerø. She was the bigest ship ever built there. Her tonnage was 617 tons net, 294 Norwegian Commercial lasts. Owner was L. Larsen of Kragerø. In 1868 the ship Ocean departed from Bergen May 3rd, and arrived at Quebec June 14th. She was carrying 353 passengers. Master was Capt. H.C. Torjussen. The passenger list was archived by the National Archives of Canada [NAC]. The Ocean was lost in the North Atlantic in 1876 on way from Quebec to England with timber.
