Hi,
why do you have 4 different postings about the same people???

It doesn't make sence, and it's very confusing for people who try to help...
  • Johan Johanessen is born approx.1829 in Grue parish, Hedmark county.
  • His wife Randine Findsdatter is born approx 1829 in Strøm parish, Hedmark. Strøm is now a part of Nord-Odal township, Hedmark.
I'm not sure if any of those parish's have online churchbooks, so you might have to go to a library or LDS center to view a copy (microfilms) of the wanted churchbooks.

Yes, there are LDS Family History Centers in New Zealand. You can check for their locations online at www.familysearch.org

This article contains more detail about searching in the microfilmed Norwegian parish church records -
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na20.html

You could also look for other researchers of Hedmark ancestors and hope you encounter some kind soul who has access to the records you desire and will share. Rootsweb has a message board devoted to persons interested in history/genealogy in Hedmark. (Rootsweb now being the free branch of Ancestry.com).
Go to http://rootsweb.com
At the top you'll see ways to delve further into Message Boards. For example, to look at the Hedmark Message Board from the beginning of Rootsweb choose the following links -
'Message Boards' -- Localities 'browse all localities' -- 'Scandinavian and Baltic States' -- 'Norway' -- 'Counties' -- 'Hedmark'.
You can also search the archives of past messages on that message board or others by playing with the option on the page entitled 'Advanced Search'.

Here is a possible canidate for Rangdie in the LDS IGI christening record Click Here . If that is the correct Rangdie then this is most likely her parents in the 1865 census living with her sister?? Click Here
Other children born to Find and Berthe listed in the LDS are
1. BERTHE CHRISTINE FINDSEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 27 OCT 1839 Nord Odal, Hedmark, Norway
2. KARI FINDSEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 07 AUG 1836 Nord Odal, Hedmark, Norway
3. CHRISTOPHER FINDSEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 12 JAN 1834 Nord Odal, Hedmark, Norway
4. PEDER FINDSEN - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 10 JUL 1831 Nord Odal, Hedmark, Norway
Hopefully you can find other information that can confirm this is the correct Rangdie

I have been looking for 2 weeks for any information on Julius Johansen. I have a trunk with his name on it, and am intrigued. Is Julius Johansen in your family geneology? This man would have lived in Beaver Creek, Minnesota ( Rock County) at some point in time.
