In 1869 the bark Alma departed from Bergen on April 27th, same day as the bark Maryland. She had been cleared to sail on Apr. 12th, but waited for favorable wind. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 234 steerage passengers and 4 cabin passengers. She arrived at the Quarantine station at Grosse Isle June 1st, all well. She was mastered by Capt. T. Eilertsen, with a crew of 13. Her tonnage was 446 tons or 212½ Norwegian Commercial lasts
