In 1866 the bark Ansgar arrived to Quebec from Bergen in ballast. She was carrying 260 steerage passengers and 4 cabin passengers. When she arrived the quarantene station at Grosse Île one infant was sick from cold and debility. She was mastered by Capt. Sparre and had a crew of 15.
