In 1871 the bark Nathanael departed from Christiania June 10th, and arrived at Quebec July 26th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 294 steerage passengers. There were two births on the voyage. When the ship arrived at the quarantine station at Grosse Île on July 23rd, seven of the passenger were sick. There had been an outbreak of measles and some other decease; chic?. The ship was detained in quarantine and discharged on July 26th. The Nathanael was mastered by Capt. Jacobsen and a crew of 15.
