The Tree I linked to above has Tønnes Michalsen as the father of Olava. This could be the transcript of his marriage and him in the 1865 Census? In both cases he is using the same last name of his father. A little unusual for this early.

However for his baptism he is given his patronymic name, at least in the transcription.

Conirmation of Gulbrand's wife Anne Marie Berseth. Note reference to her baptism in the garrison church in March 1812. At that occasion her father was just Peder Olsen.

At Gulbrand and Anne Marie's wedding, the bride had been previously married. Here (bottom) is her first wedding, to Thore Johnsen Halseth, and it is with the surname of Halseth that she appears on Geni.

The record at the bottom right here contains the corresponding lysning; I am not sure about the English term, but it is a sort of pre-wedding record, and here the exact dates of birth and baptism for the groom are given as Feb 28 and Mar 1, 1812, which point us to this baptism, with parents Jon Tomessen and Karen Gulbrandsdatter at vestre Løken in Veldre. (Veldre was a sub-parish of Ringsaker.) So this Gulbrand is definitely the one in the Geni profile.

Gulbrand was the oldest male heir after his parents, so it is puzzling why his younger brother Lars ended up with the farm. Veldre bygdebok (page 554) states something about financial matters.

My post of 14/4 21:56:06 had a different candidate. Recall that at Gulbrand and Anne Marie's wedding, her full name was Anne Marie Halseth, born Berseth while her father's name was Peder Berseth, and in several records after her marriage to Gulbrand, she is still referred to as Anne Marie Berseth. (Halseth was the name of her deceased first housband; he is mentioned in the lysning/wedding bann.)

Hence a baptism in Oslo in 1812 with father Peder Berseth is the ideal find. My post yesterday almost delivered this; a confirmation with father Peder Olsen Berseth, pointing back to a baptism in Olso with father Peder Olsen.
