From Vern Larson we have received the following information:

A family historian has this account of the Harmonie, the ship that brought my gggfather, Lars Christopherson, and his family to the US in 1849. The Harmonie was built in Molde, Norway in 1848 for the Mediterranean and Black Sea Trade. On the trip to America in 1849 she was carrying 114 passengers. She departed from Stavanger on May 13th, and arrived at New York on July 3rd. It was the first transatlantic voyage and was of this ship, and was made in 50 days. One June 25th, a gale ripped away the bowsprit. T. T. Lindaas captained the ship. When she crossed in 1853 she had 200 passengers. In November, 1866 the ship was wrecked in the Aegean.
