The Hebe of Bergen made several voyages with emigrants fro Norway to North America. She is often mixed up with another ship by the same name, the Hebe of Stavanger, which was also participating in the conveyance of emigrants from Norway. The Hebe of Bergen had a burden of 243 Norwegian Commercial lasts. In 1856 the Hebe was cleared to sail on May 10th, and departed from Bergen on May 12th with 309 passengers, including 9 infants, they arrived at Quebec on June 14th. Master was Capt. Hansen. Because the National Archives of Canada [NAC] did not start the archiving of passenger lists before 1865, and the Norwegian emigration records did not start before 1867, there is no surviving passenger list for this voyage in any of those archives. Timeline to records. In 1857 the Hebe departed Bergen on Apr. 27th and arrived at Quebec on May 31st. Master was Capt. Hansen. No surviving passenger list. In 1858 the Hebe departed Bergen and arrived at Quebec on June 14th. Master was Capt. Hansen. No surviving passenger list. In 1861 the Hebe departed Bergen on Apr. 22nd for Quebec. Master was Capt. Hansen. She arrived at Quebec on June 4th. According to a report she was carrying 367 steerage passengers. [Archives of Ontario, Series RG11-4 MS ???? Toronto Emigrant Office Arrival and Destination Registers (1857-1892)]. There is no surviving passenger list. In 1863 the Hebe departed Bergen on Apr. 29th and arrived at Quebec on July 5th. Master was Capt. Hansen. No surviving passenger list.
