The Kungsholm (2) had a tonnage of 20,223 tons gross, 13,526 under deck and 11,237 net. The bridge and forecastle was 518 feet long. She had 3 steel decks, weather deck partly sheathed in wood; 4th steel deck in holds and 10 cemented bulkheads. She was fitted with electric light, refrigerating machinery, submarine signaling device, wireless and direction finder. The hull was strengthened for navigation in ice and there was a cellular double bottom 513 feet long, 2,847 tons. The Forward Peak Tank was 139 tons and Aft Peak Tank 174 tons. Propulsion: 4 stroke cycle, double acting oil engines with 16 cylinders of 33 1/16 inches diameter each, stroke 59 1/16 inches, 2 double ended boilers delivering 3,380 nominal horsepower which gave her a speed of 17 knots. The engine was built by Akt. Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen. She had twin screws. Call sign: KGQH. Official registration #: 7479 There was passenger accommodation for 115 first class passengers, 490 second class and 970 third class passengers.
