There was one birth and four deaths on the voyage. When the ship arrived at the quarantine station at Grosse Īle, twenty people were sick with typhus fever. The Skien was mastered by Capt. Melancthon, and had a crew of 16.
In 1870 the bark Skien departed from Skien Apr. 12th, and arrived at Quebec June 7th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 148 steerage passengers and 1 cabin passenger, all well at arrival.
She was mastered by Capt. F. Melanethon, and had a crew of 16. Tonnage: 583 tons.
In 1871 the bark Skien departed from Skien Apr. 17th, and arrived at Quebec June 8th. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 88 steerage passengers. All well. Mastered by Capt. F. Melancthon, with a crew of 17.
