In 1870 the ship Theresa departed from Bergen on April 20th, and arrived at Quebec on June 3rd. She was sailing in ballast, and was carrying 328 steerage passengers and 32 cabin passengers. When the ship arrived at the quarantine station on Grosse Île, four were sick with severe diarrhoea. There was one birth on the voyage, on April 26th, Olai, child of Christen Olsen Tongedal (30) and Synevy Rasmusdatter (26). There was also one death, on April 23rd, infant Knud Sondødal (3 mo.), son of Marit Thorstensdatter Sondødal (23). The Theresa was mastered by Capt. J. M. Isaacsen, and had a crew of 16.
