Looking to trace my family history in Norway. Andrew Johnson Arrived in Australia in 1854 and died in Geelong Victoria five years later. His brother Halstien Johnsen married Elizabeth Jones at Bellarine in 1876. Halstein was born 11th October 1846 (Bergen Norway). His family bible shows a sister Inga. Possibly the Son of Johannes Andersen born 1811 and Marta Olsdatter born 1811. Halsteins marriage cert states father as Andrew Johnson and mother as Martha Nilson. Halstein suicided or was murdered in Tasmania in 1903. Can anyone help. He has hundreds of decendants all over Australia using the name Johnson.

The Digitalarkivet has quite a few records for Bergen on line but unfortunately it is down right now.
