Hello - My great-grandfather Olaf Hansen was a First Mate on a Norwegian merchant ship (name of vessel unknown). I have located his family in the 1900 census for Tune (Ostfold) and he is listed as a "temporary resident" of Liverpool.

I was unable to locate his name in a digital archives search of 1900 census crew lists and I wondering how complete those records are. If he was identified and listed as 'absent' in the 1900 Tune census, would he identified again in a the census of crews?

Thanks

Denise Hansen
