You searched the US censuses for Emery and Wayne Counties of Utah?
When was CharlesTorgerson born? Where? Norway?
Those censuses should also list a year of immigration to the US - what was that?

You have to first complete your information search in the US before you'll be able to find information regarding his emigration from Norway and earlier ancestral family information.

1900, 1910, and 1920 US census indicate TWO Charles Torgerson's in Utah. One in Emery Co. the other in Wayne Co. There is an approximate 10 year difference in their ages.
The surnames for these two men go through a number of spelling changes in the census enumerations.
