Can someone please tell me what the abbreviation means in the date of the marriage? page 215, #21 Torbjorn Torbjornsen Skarveland and Kari Torrisdatter Skarveland.
They had a child in September who lived 1/hr in Sept and married in Dec. Torbjorn died the following January. So sad.

Source information: Hordaland county, Skånevik, Parish register (official) nr. A 4 (1828-1848), Marriage records 1836, page 215.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=11666&idx_id=11666&uid=ny&idx_side=-194

Thanks

Marriage date is 01-Nov-1836.

It reads "1ste Novbr", like in english.. meaning "November 1st"...
