I am searching for information on Peter Thune, born abt 1868 & his wife Julia, born abt 1875. In 1914 they immigrated to Canada with their children. Selma - 1896, Emma - 1898, Sivert - 1900, Edward - 1902, Micheal - 1904 & Josephine - 1906.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Edward was born in Rugby ND per this posting. The 1900 census has Peter S Thune in Pierce county North Dakota with wife Julia who immigrated in 1876, daughters Selma, Emma and son Siver all born in ND and brother Mike. Mike and Peter immigrated in 1893.
Emigrants from Oslo shows Peder Syversen Thune and Mikal Syversen Thune emigrating April 14 1893 Click Here. They were from Aal Buskerud.

Peter Thune may be Peder who was born Sept 17 1867, see #79
his parents were Syver Mikkelsen and Gro Pedersdatter, Johnseth.
His brother Mikal may be Mikkel who was born Nov 29 1870, see #1
same parents living at Brosten.
The marriage record for Syver and Gro is #8
Syvers bapt record is #134
Gros bapt record is #71

Thank you for the responses and all of the wonderful information.
I will now search the US records for more information.
I have also sent a message to the person who posted the query about Edward Thune.

Thanks again for the information.
Unfortunately I do not know Norwegian, so I am now asking for assistance in getting the information on the Ål bygdebok translated to English.
Thanks, Irene

see 6698
Peter = #2 Per Syverson Bråten Tune 17.09. 1867- it states that "Per S. Tune reiste til Amerika i 1892 saman med Mikkel. Han budde i Dakota i 1901" - went to Amerika in 1892 together with Mikkel. He was living in Dakota in 1901.
"Syver og Gro gifte seg i 1866. Syver budde i SundreBråten i 1875.
Syver kjøpte Tune for kr. 3200 i 1887. Han måtte selja garden på auksjon i 1887. Død som husmann i Jonset. I 1900 var Gro husmann utan jord, ho levde av spinning og strikking." Syver og Gro married in 1866. Syver was living in Sundre Bråten in 1875.
He bought Tune for kr. 3200 in 1887 but had to sell the farm on auction in 1887. He died as a cottar in Jonset. In 1900 Gro was a cottar without land, she levmade a living by spinning and nitting.
Would be nice if you tell what should be translated, there is a lot of info, not all of interest to you I assume.

Einar
