Hi Fiona,

This is from the MOMS (Minnesota Official Marriage System) website and this may be your ancestor's marriage:

POLK E/423 12/6/1892 JOHNSON, JONS P DAHL, THORA ALFINA

Does this match what you know about the couple?

Jackie M.

There is a Family Tree on Ancestry.com with a great similarity to the information listed above.
Husband is Jens Johnson born abt. 1863 in Sweden
Wife is Thora Alfine Andersdatter Dahl born 30 April 1867 in Vardø, Norway, died 12 October 1945 in Boise, Ada, Idaho
Children listed as Ansgar and Olga. The site has Ansgar born in Idaho but a minor mistake.

The owner of this site has traced the family of this Thora back many, many generations in Norway.

The owner of the site is Owner: Anne-Kristin Mortensen Stavanger, Rogaland. Her last log in was today so she does use the site frequetly.

Hi Jackie. Yes you are correct. The following is from my research.

Thora and J.P. Johnson were married December 6th, 1892. Following is an account of their wedding taken from the local newspaper in Evansville, Minnesota:

The many friends and acquaintances of Miss Thora Dahl at this place, will be pleased to hear of her marriage to Mr. Jens P. Johnson, eldest son of Anders Jonsson, a well-known farmer of this township. The marriage was consummated at Crookston on Dec. 6th last, by Rev. Sather of McIntosh, at which place the bride formerly resided. Both of the young people are well and favorably known in this locality, and all unite in wishing them a happy and prosperous life. Mr. Johnson is now engaged in the photographers’ business at Morris at which place they reside.
