This is my great-grandfather and I am interested in finding relatives. His son, Paul Knutsen (changed name to Paul Sando when he came to the US) is my grandfather. He settled in Washington State. Paul Sando's birthday is August 28, 1899. He had eight siblings. All were born in Sandoy, Norway.

Below is a link from the census, listing the household from 1900.

Thanks,
Pat

Thank you, Peder. I live in Olympia and my grandpa, Paul Sando (aka Knutsen) died Nov. 14, 1981 (there wasn't a date below). I might be able to add some details if there is a place to do that. He married Esther Anderson and had two children, etc. Let me know if there is a place to record that for others who might be looking for relatives.

Thanks,
Pat

Hi Peder,

Thank you for the information on the confirmation. I didn't have that. Yes, he left around 1920 for the USA. I have the dates somewhere, but not in front of me.

Our family knows almost nothing about the rest of the family--Paul's parents, siblings, etc. I would be interested in finding cousins, etc, to chat with--maybe on Facebook. I don't know where to start to find cousins. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Pat

Thank you for the birth records, Peder. I am checking on the year of Esther's death.

If anyone wants Paul (Knutsen) Sando's spouse/children/grandchildren names, I can fill in the blanks.

Thanks,
Pat

Yes, I have emigration records--my brother found them online. I don't know if we have any original documents. I could check with my mom, but I don't think so.

Would you like the details we have on his emigration? If so, should I post a link here or e-mail you?

Thanks,
Pat
