Hi,

Usually when folks in US only have month and year of birth, the source of that information is the 1900 US census listing for that person...

Hi,

One (or more) of these may be your Gullik, from the Minnesota Naturalization records at the Iron Range Interpretive site:

First Name Last Name
GULLIK THORSTENSON

Location: DOUGLAS
State: MINNESOTA
Reel #: 1
Vol #: C
Code #: 3
Page #: 119

First Name Last Name
GULLIK THORSTENSON

Location: CLAY
State: MINNESOTA

Have you collected this type of record for your Gullik?

Thanks Jackie, I will check out Naturalization Records.
Kåre- you have a good memory! The tombstone translation you did was not these people. It was my husband's uncle, born in Denmark, died in Wisconsin.

TORSTENSEN - THORSTENSEN - TOSTENSON - Gullik - still looking for info on him

EVJEN - Herman - a busy man to keep track of. Seems like= he came to America ??, ca. 1872 married Oline (who was born in America), had 2 kids. All went back to Norway ca 1876, had 3 more kids. All came back to America 1882, had about 7 more kids. Herman went back to Norway in 1912 and 1922. In 1920, Oline lives in Alexandria, MN with 3 kids - next door to Knute Nelson, US Senator. Someplace it says that Herman died in 1928 in Rochester, MN, but no proof and no death record found in Minn. index. Maybe Herman stayed in Norway?
Thanks to all -- Kay
