Seattle, King, Washington
Anton S Anderson 55
Olise Anderson 53
Halvor Brunsvek 64
Marie Lonane age 64, sister-in-law, widowed, born about 1856 Norway, to USA 1904

Olise must be Marie's sister Olise Ericksen Solemsdal born 1866 in Kristianssund (according to the 1885 Norway census in Kristiansund kjøpstad). Father Erik Eriksen Solemsdal b 1823 and mother Ingeborg [Andersdtr] b 1826. Census says their brother Eilert Eriksen Solemsdal was born 1863 Kristianssund, occupation Skibstømmermand (ship's carpenter, I think):

Olise (alice). Is Marie's sister. But I'm not sure that Olise Anderson is the right person.
Her mother Ingeborg Mjoen does not match. In my tree her mother Ingeborg has maden name Andersdotter.

the people in this link is correct.

There are several farms named Mjøen in Opdal in the 1865 census. When Ingeborg was born were her parents living on Mjøen or did Ingeborg ever live on Mjøen herself or did any of her relatives--siblings or parents--live on Mjøen?

The American tendency is to take ø and disregard the / and make the letter into O.

In the 1920 census Marie Lonning is recognized as sister-in-law of the head of the household Anton Andersen, which means she is either a sister of Anton's wife or the wife of one of Anton's siblings.

How many Erik Solemsdalen are there in Norway?

There are many reasons why a person could die in 1918, biggest amongst would be the influenza epidemic of that time and WWI. He is alive by record in 1908--in New Jersey-- and circumstantially because of his mother's statement in 1910 census.

For the reasons Jackie says, we feel sure it is Marie's sister Olise in the 1920 census as "Olise Andersen." Olise's death record in Washington shows she was born to a father "Solemsdalen." There is no name "Etik," so this is likely a mistake for "Erik." If so, then the father is "Erik Solemsdalen" and Olise is born as "Olise Eriksdatter." Marie's name of Lonning is mangled and messed up in the transcription - but this is only a transcriber trying to read the difficult handwriting. Marie is with Halvor Brunsvig, which helps to mark her as the right Marie. She is noted as "sister-in-law" to Anton Andersen.

Also consider the matter of the brother Eilert. Olise Andersen's obituary, as Jackie posted, says that she is "survived by a brother Eilert" who lives in Seattle, King, Washington, USA.

The 1906 emigration of Olise and Anton shows they were already married at that time. To find the final proof, we can look in Norway for the record of their marriage. It should tell who are the parents of this Olise. Also we can try to find their mother Ingeborg Andersdatter living on Mjøen/Mjoen. Remember that in America a person might not be called by their patronymic (Andersdatter/Andersen). Instead the place name might be used instead. Usually only one of those two names is remembered. The other is dropped.

Remember we found Eilert's immigration record for 1901.

OBITUARY
Eilert Ingeman Eriksen born 1863 in Norway; died 30 Sep 1950 in Seattle, King, Washington, USA.
"Funeral services for Eilert I. Eriksen, 87, were held at 1 p.m. on October 5th at the Ballard First Lutheran Church, with Interment in the Pacific Lutheran Cemetery. Eilert died on Saturday, October 4th. Born in Kristiansund, Norway, Mr. Eriksen lived in Seattle 49 years. [SO he immigrated about 1901.] He was a shipbuilder.... Surviving are four daughters, two sons..." -- Seattle Times 12, Oct, 1950

Four daughters and two sons:
Ester, Ingeborg, Olise, Erna
Einar, Ole
The oldest are born in Norway; Ole was born in Seattle, Washington, USA

============================================
Find-a-Grave

Below is a link to the Find-a-Grave memorial for Eilert. It matches the emigration record that was posted for Eilert's wife Marie. I posted the names and birth year of the children who were traveling with Marie. Their family is traveling with Marie Lønning.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Eriksen&GSfn=Eilert&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=110899418&df=all&

Find-a-Grave memorial for Eilert says this about his family. (I changed one thing - I took away the married name of the daughters):
Spouse: Marie O Eriksen (1866 - 1948)
Children:
[Ester is not included in the Find-a-Grave memorial; this is common; Find-a-Grave memorials do NOT list all children]
Ingeborg Margrethe Eriksen b 17 Mar. 1890 in Kristiansund, Norway
Olise Emelie Eriksen b 02 Nov 1892 in Norway
Einar M Eriksen b 1895 in Norway, to USA 1905
Erna A Eriksen b 25 Oct 1901 in Norway
Olaf Edwin Eriksen (1906 - 1993) born in Seattle, Washington, USA

COMPARE the above to the emigration list.
Emigranter fra Kristiansund - traveling with Marie Lønning:
19 April 1905
Marie Eriksen Solemsdal born 1866 going to Washington "Retur til sin mann"
Ester Eriksen born 1890
Ingeborg Eriksen born 1891
Olise Eriksen born 1894
Einar Eriksen born 1897
Erna Eriksen born 1902

Eilert emigrated 28 May 1901

The creator of the Find-a-Grave memorials (John N) "gave away" the memorial to another person (Tim H). Usually this happens only if the other person says "This is my family, please give these memorials to me to manage." Tim H has only a few memorials on Find-a-Grave. We can guess these are personal memorials - they are his family.

So you have there a descendant in America to whom you can write. Contact information here:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&MRid=47150454

I will look for the family of Eilert in the 1900 Norway census...

lyndal40's posting of the birth date of Olise in Seattle, King, Washington, USA (from her death record, and from her passport), and ALSO the birth date of Olise in Norway, proves it is the same person. Great work!

The family in 1865, before Olise was born:

1865 Norway Census
Bydel: Øvrevaagen
Kjøpstad: Christianssund
Erik E Øvrevaag, age 42, husfader, arbeidsmand, born in Bolsø Prgj.
Ingeborg Andersd. age 39, born in Opdals Prgj.
Marie Severine Øvrevaag age 14 born in Bolsø Prgj.
Marta Emelie Øvrevaag age 10 born in Christianssund
Anna Olise Øvrevaag age 7 born in Christianssund
Eilert Engemand Øvrevaag age 3, born in Christianssund

Harold, we have not forgotten Erik Hansen Lønning. When we can't find the facts we want, we spread the net wider, as Jackie earlier said.

1900 Norway Census
By: Kristiansund
Gate: Øvervaagen
Anton Andersen, skibstømmermand, born 1864
Olise Andersen, husmor, born 1866

Again, from the 1865 census:
Marta Emelie Øvrevaag age 10 born in Christianssund

So maybe we can make a working hypothesis that the Marta Dahle on this 1885 census could possibly be the same Marta. She has named her daughter "Ingebor." She is married to Ole Dahle:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/en-gb/ft/person/pf01053299006759

lyndal40 earlier wrote: "Olise and Anton travelled back to Norway in 1910. The person they list in the country they are going to is Ole Dalen."

Anne Dahle born 10.12.1892 in Kristiansund, butikjomfru i colonialforretning

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01036748002948

I haven't found Eilert Ingeman Eriksen (born abt 1863) in the 1900 Norway census. One candidate in Kristiansund is listed as a widower, no wife or children with him.

Here is the 1856 birth record for Martha Emilie daughter of Erik Eriksen Solemsdal and Ingebor Andersdtr. of Christiansund. Baptised 04 July 1856; page is burnt and birth date was burned.

I think this is the birth record for Ingeborg Andersdatter, mother to Marie, and Olise, and Eilert Eriksen, all in Seattle, USA. If so, tthen here's the name "Mjøen" associated with her. Hope someone can help with reading this. Thanks.

Birth-Baptism Record
Sør-Trøndelag fylke, Oppdal, Ministerialbok nr. 678A06-07 (1821-1847), Fødte og døpte 1826, side 44.
#53
Born 20 April 1826, baptised 20 May
Ingeborg
illegitimate birth?
FATHER: bachelor? Anders Johnson Reitans ???
MOTHER: pigen/unmarried woman? Marith Eriksdr Mjøen
Baptismal witnesses include John Eriksen Mjøen
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070907640670.jpg

All of this is surely wide of the target of Erik Hansen Lønning. However the growing evidence suggests to look for him in Seattle or nearby - and in North Dakota, as a second guess.

I wonder if Erik remained in norway since he was in the 1910 census. .
I check the cemetery listings in various spellings and counties but did not find a record. which does not mean that he is not buried in norway just the fact that he is not on the listings.
perhaps you could check Ellis Island to see if he came back to the USA
