Hi, I'm attempting to research my father's family. I've gotten as far back as 1878. My great-great grandfather was born March 28, 1878 in Ringsaker and his name was Martin Olsen Hakensveen. He married my great-great grandmother Nicoline or Nicolina Olsen (I don't have a maiden name) in 1904. Nicoline was born June 8, 1884 in Norderhov, Norway. Their last address in Norway was Christiania, now Oslo in 1905. They left for American on March 30th, 1905. I was able to find her passenger record but not his. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the marriage record for Martin and Nicoline. Also gives the maiden name for Nicoline.

Searching the opposite direction also gives the name of Nicoline's father.

Probably the family of Martins parents in the 1875 Norwegian Census. ie just before Martin was born.

This tree on Geni.com would appear to be for your Martin, however in this tree he appears to have had a son , Sigurd Finstad by a women named Karen Simensdatter Granvold. Very curious.
