I am looking for information on this man. He left his wife and children in Norway in 1923 (?) and I belive he went to Canada. He arrived US from Canada in 1926. He used only Dybwad as his first name. I found a little about him here: http://app.chautauquacounty.com/hist_struct/Stockton/TheMoonHouseStockton.html And in FamilySearch I find that he died may 13.1953, but I am not shure that is correct. I would really like to learn more about him. He was my father's uncle.

Apparently Dybwad's estate was sued in 1954. At the old fulton newspaper site here are the 2 snippets about Dybwad:

It's a free site but a bit quirky (I can't get the actual images to load but maybe you'll have better luck.) Maybe this will take you there:

Probably his first arrival. He states on the form that his reason for travelling to Canada is to "make his home" and he intends to live there permanetly. He states that he is travelling to Mr. Fred Lund of St Catharines, Ontario. His nearest relative is listed as Olaf Danielson, Trømso, Norway.

Looks like he traveled back and forth from Thorold, Ontario and Buffalo, NY. He lists a friend Wik Solberg of 410 Cambridge Street, Buffalo, NY as his contact in the United States. He has always listed his occupation as carpenter.
