My second great grandmother was born September 30, 1834, in Hedmark, Norway. Her father, Lars Larsen, was 37 and her mother, Inge Halvorsdatter, was 41. Her last name becomes trickier as some have her as Larsdatter but others refer to her as Karen Suderud. Perhaps this is a farm name. I have seen from your records that she married Even Pohlsen December 2, 1857, in Hedmark, Norway, when she was 23 years old. Information relating to her birth, her parents and grandparents would be wonderful. Thank you so much for your help.

Suderud should be a good clue to the parish name in 1801 and 1900 Suderud is in Vang in Hedemark

Here is transcription of her marriage:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/kb/vi/person/pv00000001026209

Her father's name would be Lars Mikkelson.

Most likely the family of Inge Halvorsdatter in the 1801 Census. Father is Halvor Christensen and mother is Daarthe Andersdatter.

You are right Anton;
Furnes church Nov. 20. 1823.
Bachelor Lars Larsen farm Lille Daglum age 27 and maid Inge Halvorsdatter farm Ajer Ĝdegaard age 30

Ĝdegaard means the farm was abandoned after/during the Black Plague 1349-50 where ca 50% of the population died

I have a wondering question. Above it mentions that Karen Larsdatter's fathers name is Lars Larsen from her birth record and Lars Mikelsen from her wedding record. Is this the same person?
I am also wondering where Inge Halvorsdatter is living in the 1801 census mentioned above.
Thanks so much, Cheryl

I was also wondering if Marte Halvorsdatter born in 1785 would be a sibling of Inge. Marte is listed in some family trees born at Sor-Odal, Hedmark. Thanks again.

Inge above is listed as living in 1801 census for 0419P Strĝm

The marriage date matches the record date you supplied in your first post and she is marrying a man named Even Paulsen. Did your original information come from an online family tree?

Not sure, but Marthe Halvorsdatter age 15 could well be Inge Halvorsdatters sibling. Both lived on sub farms under Gjerstad, Inge with her parents and Marte as "tjenestepige" servant maid on cottager Otter Olsens sub-farm.
Marthe was born 1785 in Strĝm sub parish in Sĝr Odal, bapt Oct. 30. Father Halvor Steenhougen (Stone heap) could well be the name of his subfarm under Gjersad (no name rec. in 1801, only "Huusnmand med jord" Cottager with land, there were 6 sub farms under Gjerstad)

Martes bapt. see 2. column ca half way down under
Dom: 23 p. Trin, "Dĝbt" Bapt Halvor Steenhougens "Datt" Daughter Marthe
One of the godfathers was Jacob Gjerstad, most likely Jacob Bergersen Gjerstad, owner of farm Gjerstad link

The question;
Is Halvor Christensen and Halvor Steenhougen the same person.

The question was raised about Lars Larsen versus Lars Mikelson. Should be cleared up before anything else, shouldn't it? I'll try to help later.
