David if you combine the original records with the Digitalarkvet short transcription of the same time frame your can come closer to being able to read the Gothic writing. For example above Jackie gives you some pointers on the right hand page and thus the first page for 1714.

Jackie gives you this information

quote:
These entries are chronological. So the first entry on the right page is marked "Begrav" in the left margin, a burial on 13 Jan [1714] for a 76 year old whose name I'm not certain I can read. The line ends up with an eccliastical date/description.

The transcription tells you his name was Holger Stellefss.born 1638.

For the next record you need to play with the transcription to get the full record, use the plus symbol to pull up more info. Here the name is Halvor !! Hostvedt, Wasaas sogn. Seems as if the Norwegian Transcriber also struggles with the writing.

You can use the Digtalarkvet to find that there are 34 baptism's in 1716 in Hof, Vestfold. None named Pernille, however two names are unreadable by the transcriber. The father of the first is listed as Abraham !! Dalen. The second unknown has a father listed as Ole Nielss. Verket.

The transcription could also shed some light on your earlier search efforts. You posted

Here is a 1738 child: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/kb20070402660054 Marthe 2nd baptism on right I know the mother here is Petronelle but I am convinced this is a typo by the recorder after reading through this register as much as I am able.

Here is the transcribed record which should help you read the original .
