Although I don't often disagree with our friend Kċre, I'm of the opinion that the birth was in 1826 because of the pages of earlier baptisms also labelled as that year and the slow progression of recorded events through the months. I also know that the church year did not always begin on Jan 1 but actually started a couple months earlier. So perhaps that is why the writer switched to 1827 for that inserted heading.



You are right Hopkins, 1826 In 2016 the church-year starts the first Sunday in Advent (Nov. 27)

Thank you for the information. It is very satisfying to know these things. I was hoping that we could identify a church at which they worshipped. My brother and his family will be visiting Norway later in the month. I hope they will be able to visit the Kongsberg Church. Eric
